Day 58: Daddy's gone a huntin'

Each day that we are here, we are one day closer to going home. That is all I keep telling myself.

Joe got here around 10:30am today. He came in and hung out with Frankie for a bit before heading out to go search for Bambi and friends. While he was here he spoke to Joanie. Frankie will remain here until his steroid ween comes to an end. This way they can watch him closely to make sure that they won't have to increase his oxygen to a flow that we can not do at home. Gosh, I honestly can't remember what else they talked about. I'm very tired. I've been here 12 hours and counting.

I arrived about 12:30pm today. When Frankie's 2 o'clock feeding rolled around, he was so not interested. He took about 10ml. That's all I've gotten him to take today. At his 5 and 8 o'clock feedings he wasn't feeling it. He has been spitting up (more like throwing up, literally) more. This has me concerned, still. When I arrived today he was laying in his own vomit (let me tell you how happy that made me.... feeling my sarcasm?!) and a lot of it for that matter. I strongly feel that we are feeding him too often and or too much at a time. For goodness sakes the kid has gut issues, we can't honestly expect him to eat like other babies. I know that he needs to grow and that eating food is the only way to do that but he isn't digesting it and is throwing some of it up. His nurse pulled back on his ngt at 8 and there was 34ml still left of the 80ml feeding. At 11, there was 40ml still left. That's half of his feeding. Luckily we aren't adding a whole feeding on top of that. They are subtracting what is still in his belly from the 80ml and then giving him that. I really think we need to devise a new eating plan but I'm just a mom... not a doctor (more sarcasm coming at ya!).

Frankie has officially hit 8lbs! Go Frankie, go! He is 8lbs 1/2 oz. Growing slowly but surely! Oh and he's 20.5in long. And he's super flipping cute!

So, he is still on his Viagra, steroid ween, not interested in his bottles (can't say I blame him. He's always full), his O looked great when I changed his wrap tonight, and he's cute as a button. The kids smile will melt your darn heart I tell ya!

I do believe that's all for now. Love to you all!
