There has only been one major change today.... Frankie is now on regular oxygen! He is no longer on the high humidity that has the higher flows, that drowns him. He is officially on the oxygen he can go home on! Let's hope he does well on it (and they can even ween him off of that). They are not in the process of weening him off of it, yet. They are at a steady 40%. The doctors may discuss something different tomorrow. Typically, nothing major changes over the weekends.
The surgeons did give us the final "okay" to feed him 75ml by bottle every 3 hours. He has still only taken the full 75ml once, but he is doing good. Eating between 40-60ml each time. Whatever he doesn't eat still goes in through his feeding tube but instead of them pumping it in, they put it in a syringe and let gravity take it in naturally. The kid can burp! He either burps as soon as we sit him up and with just a couple pats on the back. And let me tell you, he sounds like a grown man!
We had one visitor today. Joe's mom stopped in and hung out for a little bit. We just started re-wrapping the omphalocele when she got here (omphalocele still looks good). He did so well during the dressing change today! Not a tear shed or a fuss. But, after it was over he through a fit. Not sure why, but he did. I calmed him and gave him a bottle and then he slept while Linda held him for a bit.
Right now he is waiting for his bottle to warm and he is waiting to patiently! Honestly! He's looking at his mobile and just talking away. He's so darn cute.
That's all for now. The less news the better! Oh, one more thing... could someone tell the extremely crabby, loud baby next door to hush just a little?! My goodness!
I wanna hold him. So jealous of everyone!! Give him some kisses for me please
