Day 54: Who needs a bottle when you have a NG tube?

I called about Frankie around 9 this morning. His nurse said they had a little fist fight this morning but he was currently asleep. He didn't want anything to do with his 8am bottle. So, she tubed it. He fell asleep after his fight with his nurse/one of many girlfriends.

When I arrived today (about 11:45am), my mama was right behind me! We both walked back together to see how Frankie was doing. He looked so cute! He was passed out in his swing! When his nurse came in, I asked if he had been in it sleeping since I called at 9 and she said yes. She didn't even try his bottle (tubed it instead) at 11am because he was sleeping so good after their breakup earlier that morning. He needed his rest, I don't blame her for tubing it! Since Frankie was sleeping so well, we decided we'd run back to the kitchen and eat the delicious chef salads my mama had brought in. Thanks mom!!

At 1:30, therapy came and played again. It was a different lady so she showed me some other stretches and stuff to do with Frankie to help him out. He loved it. He just looked and smiled through the whole thing. Too cute. At 2:00, speech therapy came in and we talked about his bottle situation. I told her he hadn't been very interested in them at all today. He took 5ml from me and 5ml from her. The rest was tubed.

Around 4:00, aunt Peggy (FAP) paid a visit. Once Frankie woke up he got to meet her! She held him and even got to give him some of his bottle. He took 25ml. That's the most he took all day.

At 5:30, my brother, Tino and Jackie showed up. After everyone said hello to Frankie and hung out for awhile, Cody headed home to eat dinner with the lovely Anna and Jack, Tino, Joe and I went and ate dinner.

When we got back from dinner it was just about time for Frankie's 8pm feeding and we got another visitor! This time it was pramaw (Linda)! Frankie's nurse tonight decided to pull back on his NG tube to see what was left in his belly. He ended up having quite a bit left in there. About 29ml. So, we subtracted that from the 75ml he was supposed to get and we gave him that. He is currently sleeping and getting his 11pm feeding through his NG tube because he is sleeping like a champ (he was awake awhile this afternoon!). He only had 13ml left in belly this time so he got the whole 75ml. If he has 15% or less of his entire feed left in his belly then they can give a full feed.

Overall, today was a good day. Tomorrow will be a better day with feeding. I have faith. He is still on wall air and he is still gaining weight! He was roughly 7lbs 13oz when we weighed him tonight. His omphalocele looked great too when we re-wrapped it.

Thank you a ton to all our visitors today! Totally didn't expect that!  :)

Love to you all!

There's no denying that's my baby. That's a total Alex face! He was playing with his therapist at this moment.

Modified tummy time.
