Day 44: Frankie Fakse Was A Banana Even Though He Didn't Peel Well

I miss our naps together. Plain and simple. But the little banana just doesn't find them appealing anymore. Every time I try and take one with him he splits. It's not like he has a bunch of things to do. All he does is monkey around all day.

Nothing much has changed in the last 24 hrs with Frankie Faleme, he is just as wide eyed and grumpy as usual. We didn't get out of here until almost 3 last night because we can't bring ourselves to leave until he is asleep. Alex and I came up here separately as she had a doctors appointment. When I got here the boy stunk. All this hyperactivity on steroids makes him sweat. He needed some lever 2000 and old spice. But we settled for a banana costume. He wore it for about an hour until it was clear that he was sweltering in it. So a new omphalocele wrap, bath, diaper, clothes, and linens later, Frankie Feodosiyskiy was ready to hit the town. Instead, we hung out, taking turns comforting him. I did get him to take a cat nap with me for about 20 minutes. He has started to get more used to the steroids. While he isn't happy go lucky like he was before, he isn't clawing and kicking nearly as much. His steroids are through Thursday or Friday and then he will be weened off them. His stats are still looking good, but we haven't really started weening him off the oxygen like we were told. He is still at 3 liters at 35%, but the nurse we have tonight is a proactive nurse. Overall, Frankie Firth of Clyde is showing signs of improvement, his little woody is pointed in the right direction to say the least.
