Day 47: Frankie Freese Has Great News

My blog will not be full of details today as I missed the talk with the doctors and therefor the information has been relayed to me. Remember the game telephone? That is why I am going to be vague until I get all the details. This is what I know....

We arrived around 7:45 this morning for Frankie Figueroa's echo. He was so happy and cute this morning, it was absolutely ridiculous. The echoer came by a little after 8 to echo the echoy. Frankie Folino was as calm and collective as possible.  At times I thought he was asleep. The echo lasted about 15 minutes, much less time than we had anticipated. After she left, we had the first of good news of the day. Since another baby was paroled, we were able to move to a room with windows. We are now in 519. After agreeing to the move we left for the day. I worked so Alex and I came up at different times. She arrived around 3.

First thing, she moved us to our new room. Second she talked to the doctors. The first doctor to look at the echo said they couldn't see anything because the boy was too active. What a joke. Frankie Fitzgerald was calm and still as could be. The doctor from the NICU knew this and called them back. The specialist we saw the other day (Dr. Grady) then reviewed the echo and said it looks great! They will start weening him off the oxygen and change to a weaker steroid. This steroid will take 4 weeks to ween off of. That brings up our next point. No promises, but if everything continues as planned, Frankie Feliz may be eating turkey somewhere besides the NICU. He will probably still be on a little oxygen, steroids, and Viagra, but that just sounds like a good Saturday Night to me. He has been taking his feeds very well and he's up to a 50cc limit at a time. This will increase daily until he hits 75cc or his max feeds at that time. They will start fortifying his milk tomorrow.  I do not have details about the echo, the long term, the plan, the hypertension, or facts and figures. I just have the news.

My mother came by early today and hung out with Frankie Foster. This evening Sue and Mikey Gaga came to visit before their trip. I'm sure tomorrow's blog will hold a ton more info, but this will get you by until then. I have to get going, this getting up at 6:30 this morning, it's 12:30 am now, has got me hurting.
