Day 33: Frankie Face is doing much better

Frankie The Eyes is doing much better today. On Facebook we get comments about how babies cry. Here is our problem, while we have no problem letting him cry himself to sleep and eat dirt to build character and toughen him up, we are always worried that he is in pain. If he was a "healthy" baby and it was obvious he just wanted something, we'd let him cry. But given his abnormalities, we are concerned. We thought about naming him Sue to toughen him up, but given that it's his grandma's name, it would have just caused too much confusion. (Alex just proofread this and was like why would we have named him Sue? Seriously? Johnny Cash woman, Johnny Cash) Speaking of the lovely Miss Sue, she dropped by this evening for a while. She was well behaved tonight, thank God. Frankie the Flash was asleep when we got here, so we hung out for a minute then went an ate an early dinner. Before we left the room, we did make him a naked baby and change his diaper. After dinner we straightened up his bed and I got to play surgeon. From here on out, we will (I will, Alex is too much of a wienie) be changing Wanky Frankies dressing everyday. I have changed the gauze before, but never the xeroform and silvadene. The only issue we had was that Alex got me little girl latex gloves. It's a good thing she is pretty. Besides that, he has had a good and uneventful day. His oxygen hasn't moved, its still at 3 liters at 30ish% and his feeds have increased to 19cc an hour. Alex did try and give him a bottle tonight, but he did not have much interest in it. Of the 19ccs he only took 5ccs of it. The nurses said it's not a big deal. It is like a switch and all of a sudden one day he will get it. Frankie Fanactic did sleep through the red birds game so I think it is fair to blame the loss on him. I will make sure he is up and watching the game on Saturday. That's about it. Frankie Feud has been happy today and does not seem uncomfortable, which is a major concern at this level of feedings. P.S. You can thank my Father, he did send me a list of names for use for the Frankie Factor.
