Day 29: Frankie Photos gets, well, photographed

Frank and Clank had a split shift with us today. We originally came in around 11:30 to get prepped for our 12-1 photo shoot. When we came in the boy looked unhappy.  He was looking like he didn't feel good. We were concerned that his feeds being up and his air being down was starting to be problematic all over again. A few poops later he was happy as a clam. We gave him a bath and just hung out while he was awake. The photographer came in around 1 and took our pictures. This was a volunteer with the March of Dimes. We thought it was going to be a little more professional, but were still very appreciative of the volunteer. Now when we think back about it, we are a lot more fortunate than a lot of the other families. We have iPhones and a digital camera and get to take pictures every day. A lot of other families don't get to do that.  They will bring us print photographs over the next few days. This will include nice pictures of all three of us. After the pictures we ran home for a few hours so Alex Arms could rest and so I could get a few things done. When we came back up around 5:30, Frankie Hanky-Panky was in a good mood. His feeds are up to 11 cc an hour or 8.8 ounces a day. Lanky Frankie weighs 7.41 today. He breathing has been up and down today, but still great numbers. They had him all the way down to 3 liters at 28% (remember room air is 21%) this morning. When we returned he was back up to 3 liters at 32%. We were able to wean him back down to 28%, but even though he looked comfortable we could hear him grunting a little and his oxygen saturation levels kept dropping back into 85-90% range so at this point he is back up to 32%. Liz the surgeon came by today and rewrapped the omphalocele. It is looking very good. The membrane looks totally different, thicker and tougher. There are 2 wear marks from his knees rubbing on it. He now has padding to help hold his knees down. It has definitely shrunk in size too. When Frank the Plank started this adventure, it took 2 large xeroform sheets and a couple small ones to cover the omphalocele. Now it takes barely over one to cover it. The surgeon told us that the hernia, which it officially is, will be taken care of before he goes home. That the breathing and feeds are what is keeping him here at this point. Besides that, the self proclaimed googlemaster managed to find a quality copy of Horrible Bosses, which was just released yesterday, on the inter web. I bent that movie over a barrel and showed it the 50 states.

Moving on, attached is a copy of our stats. We had had over 4500 hits since launching and readers in the United States, Italy, Canada, France, Russia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Brazil, some place called Latvia and more. My boy, Frank and Bank, is an international superstar.

And last but not least I have a favor to ask. I kinda do a lot of Christmas lights for those who didn't know. 30,000 plus with 125 amps of electric on all 4 sides of the house. This year is going to be difficult with Frankie Clause in the hospital (or hopefully home by them), work, and deer season. I was hoping to get some help. The weekend of November 19th and 20th I thought would be nice . If you don't do ladders or heavy lifting, that is fine. There is a basement full of stuff that would be a ton of help to just be carried up. Probably start around 9 those mornings, but feel free to drop in at anytime. I really appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.
